The views of this blog are my personal views and not necessarily that of any organisation I work for
The Christian Broadcasting Blog is a blog set up to record the development of Christian broadcasting in the UK and provide news and a perspective of what is happening in the global Christian media industry from someone who is in it.
The blog is written by myself, Gareth Duffield. I am a Christian Journalist and Broadcaster based in the UK. My main role is as an assistant and producer to Broadcaster and Journalist , Mike Rimmer. I became Interested in the media when he was 11 years old, my mum would put on our local BBC radio station before church every Sunday morning – before Christian radio existed on the large scale that it does now – I remember looking at it and thinking “although it’s great to have Christian content on the radio, this isn’t the type of dynamic faith that I experience in my everyday life as a Christian, I want to see bigger and better broadcasting for Christians.” From then I was hooked on the news and how radio and TV was made,
In 2005 I went to the University of Lincoln to study Journalism where i was presenting two seperate Christian programmes each week, one on the Nottinghamshire based Community radio station Erewash Sound and another for University radio station Siren FM. The networking i was doing involved meeting Mike Rimmer. By chance he was working on a festival radio station in Lincolnshire that i got involved with from 2006 the relationship grew and I moved to Birmingham to work with him after graduating from University in 2008 and have stayed ever since.
Having established myself in the industry I now want to asses the impact it has had in the last 20 years and help shape where it is heading in the future, that’s what the Christian broadcast blog will be about.

To learn more about the Grove, our mission and goals, Ican send you a one paged summary. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please feel free to browse the website.

Jesus said unto her; ,, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: : And whosoever live and believeth in me shall never die’’ .
JOHN 11; 25-26
Dostoevsky said ;,, The death takes whole sense at the life” .
One day we shell die ! In the eschatological moment we are going to leave this form of life .
All things has a end , an teleology . The history of all things has a finality . The begging has a ending ,The etymology has a teleology . The material world will be absorbed by the inexistence .
Philosopher Diderot said ;,, How should we know the passage between the non-life to the life” ?
This biological life suffers in its substance the force of the temporality , instability , and ephemerity .
The matter is not eternal , it has a durability ended in an finality .
Emanuel Kant said ; ,, The man exists not only as a mean , but as an ending ” .
There are many conceptions about death . For the Hindu the death is a passage from actually human form of life to a post-mortem life ; a cycle of incarnations in a variety of beings , animals, suffering the karma , till the being enters into Nirvana .
Them atheistically conception of death is the end , the universal apotheosis , the neant , the absolute inexistence ,the total nihilisms .
For a good ,a authentically Christian, who had accepted Jesus as Savior , there is the passage from the biologic and material life to the eternal life ,the non- material life, the spiritual life , the real life , the Paradise with God .
Jesus said ; I am going to prepare for you a place for that where I am to be you also .

2008 Skate Conference to be held in Huntington Beach September 1st – 3rd
Pompano Beach, FL — August 13, 2008 — Christian Skaters announces that it will be hosting it’s 2008 US Skate Conference in Huntington Beach, California this September 1st – 3rd. The event will be held at The Sanctuary Church located at 8642 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683, 714-893-7437 Registration is available online at http://www.SkateConference.com
Join pro skaters, am skaters, youth pastors, skate companies and skate park owners as we equip, encourage, & pray for one another at this event that is one not to miss. Hear the stories on how skate ministry has impacted the lives of today’s top skaters. Learn from those who are veterans at Skate Ministry. Even build a ramp!
This three day conference, is packed with information sure to inspire those who love skateboarding and want to make an impact on today’s youth culture. Nightly events will feature an Art Show & Skate Event at a un-named local park.
Sports Illustrated said, “Skateboarding, second perhaps only to hip-hop, was the greatest influence on American youth culture of the late 20th centure. There is no sport as inextricably linked with America’s alternative subculture.” Skateboarding has become a huge part of the youth culture today. You walk through the mall and see the influence it has had on fashion. XGames is the largest viewed sporting event in the 13 to 24 age range. Twenty percent of young people in the US alone skateboard. That’s over 15 million. To top that off, over 38 million more have expressed a desire to learn an “extreme sport.”
Youth today are being bombarded by temptation. We see the statistics on youth involved in sexual activity, drugs, alcohol, and crime. These rates are alarming. In fact, youth ages 12-17 who are frequently bored are 50% more likely than those not often bored to smoke, drink, get drunk, and use illegal drugs. As recess is being cut from schools, our youth are replacing physical play with MTV and MySpace. As the youth culture turns more to media for stimulation, the need to focus on relationship-building is evident and crucial.
So, how do we reach these youth? Jesus met people right where they were at and continues to do that today. As pastors begin to see this cultural shift, this need to reach our youth with culturally relevant ministry becomes apparent. To meet this need, skate ministries have begun to pop up all over the world. Ministries like Skatechurch, Christian Skaters, Livin’ It, Boarders for Christ and Steelroots have stepped up to the plate to present the gospel in a way that reaches this culture.
Maybe you are a pastor or parent who constantly finds themselves chasing skaters off their property. Maybe you have a heart for “the hippies of the 21st century” and want to reach out like Jesus did. Maybe you were a skater yourself and your heart breaks for those in the next generation. Or, maybe you have found yourself planted right in the middle of skate ministry and feel like you just need some help.
With this in mind, Christian Skaters will host the 2nd Annual US Skate Ministry Conference September 1-3rd in Huntington Beach, CA. Over 100 people from different ministries were able to help equip, encourage and pray for one another. We were blessed by numerous speakers from different background and a amazing location in which to meet.
Audio from many of the 2007 speakers has been uploaded to You Tube. Download these amazing sessions from speakers like Christian Hosoi (Hosoi Skateboards/The Sanctuary), Steven Wolfe (Touch The World Ministries/Solid Foundation Skatepark), Mark Janetta (Splinter Skatepark), and more.
